The American Lutheran Church, Oslo, was founded on October 12th 1958.
The first pastor, Oscar C.Hanson, was sent over from the US parent church, ELCA. During the first years, worship services were held in rented quarters in downtown Oslo.

The first pastor, Oscar C.Hanson, was sent over from the US parent church, ELCA. During the first years, worship services were held in rented quarters in downtown Oslo. In October 1964, the congregation was able to dedicate its own church building, directly behind Frogner Church, at Fritznersgate 15.
Sunday worship services are held at 11 am.
The pastor is the Rev. Stephan M.Kienberger.
The congregation's Mission Statement reads:
