Norwegian billionaire establishes trust fund for art

Norwegian businessman and art collector Hans Rasmus Astrup has decided to transfer his most central companies to a charitable foundation that will supports cultural projects, including the Astrup Fearnley collection in Oslo.

MUSEUM NORTH - A unique selection of history and knowledge

Museum Nord is an umbrella organization for museums and historical information in the North of Norway, Lofoten, Vesterålen and Ofoten. There are museums and historical presentations in 8 municipalities Vågan, Hadsel, Sortland, Bø, Øksnes, Andøy, Narvik og Ballangen.

Sverresborg Trøndelag Folk Museum

Trøndelag Folk Museum is one of the largest cultural history museums in Norway. It shows the building traditions in Trøndelag, from town and country, from mountain to coast and from Sami huts to city mansions. The museum dates back to 1909, when a group of Trondheim residents started to collect "characteristic examples of the way houses were built in earlier times".

 

Reopening of the Astrup Fearnley Museum

Astrup Fearnley Museet is a privately owned museum, which presents temporary exhibitions of international art. First opened in 1993, the museum has since established itself as an important institution for presentation of contemporary art.
