Norsk Hydro has announced a new, major gas find in the northern part of the North Sea. It is estimated that the well contains around 30 million cubic metres of natural gas.
The value of the export of crude oil and natural gas from Norway increased by NOK 4.7 billion from July last year, according to figures from Statistics Norway.
Statoil has discovered oil in an exploratory well south of the Vigdis Field in the North Sea. The find was made at a depth of 4,572 metres in the Tampen area.
The crew were able to extinguish a fire in a generator onboard the Aasgard B platform in the Norwegian Sea on Saturday. It was not necessary to evacuate the platform.
The Statoil group has reported a net income of 8.7 billion in the third quarter of 2005, compared to NOK 5.8 billion in the third quarter of 2004. - We can once again present record results from our operations, says Statoil chief executive Helge Lund.
