The Norwegian coastal cruise liners Hurtigruten have been voted BEST NICHE CRUISE LINE by the British Travel Awards 2008.
Fylkesbaatane runs express boat services between the county of Sogn og Fjordane and Bergen with four large catamarans, and local express boat services within Sogn og Fjordane with around ten smaller express boats,,,,
Oslo was Norway's most popular destination for foreign cruise ships in 2008, with 250,000 registered passengers. This is an increase by 26 per cent from 2007, says VisitOslo CEO Tor Sannerud.
So far 165 cruise liners have announced that they will call at Oslo harbour this summer, a new record. Last summer 131 cruise liners with around 180,000 passengers stopped over in Oslo.
There will also be a new record at Flaam this year, while Bergen will receive the same number of cruise liners as last year.
154 liners will stop at Geiranger, down from 165 last summer.
