Football: Norway coach Hareide steps down

Coach of the Norwegian national team, Aage Hareide has announced that he is stepping down after five years on the job, citing lack of motivation as the main reason for his decision.

Hareide's men have achieved poor results in the World Cup qualifying, and .

The Norwegians are in last place in Scotland's section, having picked up only two points from a 0-0 draw at Hampden and being held to a draw at home by Iceland.

"The results speak for themselves and maybe it is better to inject some fresh blood," said 55-year-old Hareide at an Oslo press conference Monday.

Norway, who have suffered four defeats and four draws in 2008, visit Macedonia and Holland in their next World Cup qualifying matches in June.
