Cruise liner fire caused by fuel leak
During their investigation the Board found a fuel pump with loose mounting bolts, which most likely was the cause of the leak which ended in an explosive fire in the engine room. Two crew members died in the fire onboard the "Nordlys" off Ålesund harbour on September 15th. Two others were seriously injured. All passengers were evacuated to safety.
