Women’s Soccer: Norway and Australia 1-1 In spite of a brisk start and Ragnhild Gulbrandsen scoring after only five minutes, Australia’s Lisa De Vanna ensured that the game ended in a draw.
Norway played well the first half of the game, and deserved their place in the lead before the break.
Second half of the game, Australia was more aggressive and offensive. Norway also had a weaker defense, which gave Australia more chances at equalizing.
It still took De Vanna one hit at the goalpost before she made the score that eliminated Norway from a guaranteed place in the quarter finals, only eight minutes before the game ended.
Norway’s women still has a chance of advancing into the quarter finals in their game against Ghana on Wednesday.
