Norwegian triple in Tall Ships Race

The Norwegian training ship "Christian Radich" won the first leg of the Tall Ships Races (TSR) from Antwerp, Belgium to Ålborg in Denmark. Norway's "Statsraad Lehmkuhl" and Sørlandet" came 2nd and 3rd.

The Norwegian ships entered in class A, all square – rigged vessels (barque, barquentine, brig, brigantine or ship rigged) and all other vessel more than 40 metres Length Overall (LOA), regardless of rig.

The Tall Ships Races 2010 will visit four ports in Belgium, Denmark, Norway and the UK crossing the North Sea.

From 10 July through to 10 August the fleet will enjoy the usual mix of cultural visits, sports, friendly competition and international friendship.

From Aalborg a cruise in company will take the fleet the short journey to Kristiansand in Norway.

The final race will take the fleet west across the North Sea to Hartlepool in the UK.
