Sunday's Telethon: More than NOK 200 mill so far

Financial crisis or not, Sunday's telethon in support of the Norwegian Refugee Council  (NRC)world-wide refugee aid programs had by Monday morning netted more than NOK 202 million.

However, in some of the larger cities the counting was still underway Monday morning, and it is still possible to send in your donations, if you missed out on Sunday!

In both 2008 and 2009 the result was NOK 192 million. The record so far was in 2007, when Norwegians donated NOK 206 million.

So far this year, the Svalbard community is well ahead with NOK 585 per inhabitant, followed by the tiny island municipality of Utsira in Rogaland with NOK 350. Average nationwide was NOK 41.67 per inhabitant.
