Snowbound travellers in Europe
It may take days before air travel in Europe is back to normal, because aircraft and crews are stuck at airports other than those from which they are supposed start the new week. At Paris and Frankfurt several hundred passengers were forced to overnight at the airport for the second night running. In Norway, airports were not affected by snow, but planes were not able to take off because their destinations were closed by bad weather. Some of the first flights to Heathrow, London were cancelled also Monday morning. Other airports reported delays, up to several hours.
