Search for missing fishermen

One man was rescued and four are still missing and feared dead after an Icelandic trawler sank in a storm and heavy seas 270km off the Norwegian west coast late Wednesday afternoon.

The rescued man has said he was the only one who had time to put on a survival suit.

Wreckage and a life raft from the vessel have been located, but there are no signs of the three men. The water temperature in the area is down to two degrees Celcius, and the Norwegian Resecue Center says Thursday morning that there is no longer hope of finding anyone alive.

However, the search will continue in the hope of finding the those feared dead.

The storm had Thursday morning increased to full gale force.
