Norway's west coast battered by storm
Waves of up to 12 metres make it too dangerous to try to manouver at Hirtshals harbour in Denmark. The cancellations will affect many trying to reach home for Christmas, either from Norway to the Continent, or the opposite way. It is hoped that Fjord Line will be able to resume sailings on an adjusted schedule on Monday. The strong wind has also closed many of the mountain passes between Western and Eastern Norway, complicating travel plans for the many attempting to reach their destinations for Christmas in these parts of the country.
