Norway and Russia to sign delimitation agreement

The agreement between Russia and Norway on the maritime delimitation line in the Barents Sea and the Polar Sea will be signed in the Russian city of Murmansk on September 15th.

Norway's Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and his Russian opposite number, Sergej Lavrov, will sign the agreement, public broadcaster NRK reports, quoting the Norwegian Ebassy in Moscow.

The signing marks the end of 40 years of negotiations on the maritime border in the North between the two nations.

Agreement on the new border agreement was announced in April, during Russian President Dmitrij Medvedev's visit to Norway.
