No youth camp at Utøya this summer The youth group of the Norwegian Labour Party (AUF) will not arrange a political youth camp at Utøya this summer. This has been decided by the AUF leadership.
The Utøya island was the scene of last summer's July 22nd massacre. - It is practically not feasible, and neither does it feel correct to arrange a political summer camp at Utøya this year, says AUF leader Eskil Pedersen to the newspaper VG. Instead, there will be a meeting marking the one-year anniversary of the tragedy. The day after the terror attack Eskil was among those who said they would "re-take" Utøya. - Our ambitoins remain the same: We will do that, and we shall again arrange summer camps there, but not this year, he says.
