Lowest support for EU membership ever

The financial crisis in the European Union looks to scare Norwegians away from considering EU membership. Only 14 per cent are in favour of EU membership at present.

This is the lowest support ever for Norwegian membership in the EU.

In a poll, made by Norstat for public broadcaster NRK, 78.3 per cent of those asked say tey are opposed to a Norwegian membership of the EU. Only 14.3 per cent are in favour, while 7.5 per cent are undecided.
