Floods and mud slides in the North
In the county of Finnmark, floodwaters swept away several cars and destroyed several smaller bridges just north of the town of Alta in the early hours of Sunday morning. No one was injured.
In Nordland county a total of 21 persons were evacuated, after a large rock and ice slide had swept away a 100 m section of the main road at Beisfjord. There is fear that more slides will be released by the heavy rains and melting snow, caused by quickly rising temperatures in the North. At Kåfjord in the northern part of the county of Troms a mud and ice slide swept away an outhouse and buried a car Saturday evening. The slide went close by the farm house, but the woman living there was away at the time. (NRK)
