Fear new delays for F-35 jet fightersIt is feared that the development of the fighter bomber F-35 which the Norwegian Air Force plans to buy will be further delayed. The cost may also be NOK 29 billion higher than estimated so far. This is reported by Norwegian media, quoting the Reuters news agency, which states that the project may be delayed by several years. The development of the F-35, also known as the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF), was extended by 13 months already earlier this year, and the new delays is reportedly due to the development of the electronic software which is to be used in the advanced aircraft. The US organisation Center for Defence Information has criticised the development project, and has decribed it as a catastrophe. Norway has planned to purchase 50 F-35s. In addition to Norway, Great Britain, Denmark, Canada, Turkey and other countries are also participating in the F-35 development program. (NRK/Aftenposten)
