Air travel embargo partially liftedThe embargo on all air travel in Norwegian air space has been partially lifted Friday morning, permitting limited travel between Trondheim and Stokmarknes until 20:00 hrs, according to The Civil Aviation Authority (AVINOR). Trondheim Airport Værnes opened at 09:00 hrs local time, but only for limited traffic going north. No planes are flying south of Trondheim. Meanwhile, there were long lines in front of ticket counters at the Oslo Central Station and other Norwegian railway and bus stations, where people are hoping to find ways to either get back home from closed airports, or a ticket to their planned destination. However, even though Norwegian Railways (NSB) have put all available material on the rails, most trains are by now fully booked. Extra buses have also been put into service. Oslo taxi companies are busy with long haul traffic, to Northern N orway, Stockholm and even the Continent. The car rental market is also flourishing. Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, who was stranded in New York on Thursday, has been able to fly to Madrid, where he arrived Friday morning. His office is now looking into how to get home. Crown Prince Haakon, who was stranded in London, is on his way by car to Copenhagen, where he was scheduled to attend celebrations in connection with Queen Margrethe's 70th birthday Friday.
