The Auditor general issues strong criticism towards Minister of Education Kristin Halvorsen and her work within the education sector.
"Significant weaknesses and poor coordination," says The Office of the Auditor General of Norway of the ministry's work.
The Ministry of Education and Halvorsen (SV/The Socialist Left Party) are being critcized in several areas, such as high school students not getting their trainee positions, poor follow-up procedures of those who do, poor coordination of the research field, not to mention that both university- and college buildings are in a poor state.
"I admit that we have challenges. These are all good points that I will bring with me in each and every budget negotiation," Halvorsen says.
Halvorsen's goal has been to increase the number of trainee positions with 20 percent, but so far she has only been able to achieve a 3,8 percent increase.
The Standing Committee on Scrutiny and Constitutional Affairs is not please with the Minister's efforts either, and describes the situation serious and worthy of criticism.
