Altogether 28 works by the Norwegian painter Edvard Munch have been reported stolen or missing over the last several years. This is shown by a summary by the Art Loss Register in London.
- Art has become a valuable currency for criminials, says Antonia Kimbell of the section for stolen works at the Art Loss Register.
The stolen pictures could have been sold for NOK several million on the open, legal market.
On the illegal market for stolen art, the works are sold for less than 10 per cent of the actual value.
