Grounded Chemical-carrying tanker refloated

The Danish-registered chemical-carrying tanker "Marja Soltin" which ran agound near the west coast town of Maaloy, in Sogn og Fjordane county in the early hours of Sunday morning, was later refloated.

The 65m long tanker of 1100 dw tons, was towed into a nearby harbour for inspection and preliminary repairs.

The ship was listing heavily to port, but Haakon Seim, captain of the rescue vessel which arrived at the scene, said to NRK that there is no risk of the ship sinking.

Neither was there any signs of pollution from the vessel.

 No one was injured in the grounding.
