Banks step up customer service

After years of automating bank services and closing down local branch offices, Norwegian banks have decided to return to a more personalized service for their customers. This is also part of an international trend, according to a survey carried out among bank managers from 54 countries.- We see that our customers want to talk to someone, in addition to make use of our services via the Internet, says information director Eivind Groenstad of DnB NOR Bank to Aftenposten. Also Nordea Bank has seen the need for a more personalized contact with the customers. -Over the past few years we have seen a dramatic drop in the number of customers who come to carry out simple transactions at the local branch offices.
