Oslo Police Chief wants to mount pressure on criminal gangs

The Oslo Police Chief wants to make it easier to jail neo-nazis and members of other street gangs suspected of crimes. Oslo Police Chief Anstein Gjengedal wants to make it easier to jail neo-nazis and members of other street gangs suspected of crimes. Pointing to the murder of the 15-year-old boy last Fridya (previous story), Gjengedal wants it to become easier for the police to remand suspects into custody in cases like these.Gjengedal thinks that in this way it would become easier to split these gangs, and avoid repetitions. He is also critical of the courts which on several occasions have ruled a shorter time in custody that the police had asked for. (NRK/Aftenposten) Rolleiv Solholm Photo : J
