German Michael Eisele set a new world record off Breivik Bay in Norway on Sunday. On rod he wheeled in a cod weighing a record weight 47 kg and with a total length of 1,6 meters.
The previous record was 41,72 Kg, caught near Sørøya, in Finnmark. Sørøya has for years had both Norwegian and world records for codfish.
Eisele's giant cod hooked on at app 20 meters above bottom, and was wheeled in from a depth of 88 meters according to the fisherman. The fish was weighed on approved scales at a fish market in Breivikbotn, and documentation is underway to the International Game Fish Association for registration. The fishing has been good this season, and 33 cods above 30 kg has been caught this season. Source - Purefishing.com
