Norwegian woman set free by kidnappers

altThe Norwegian woman who has been held hostage in Sinai in Egypt since last Thursday, was released by the kidnappers in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The woman was released together with the Israeli man who had been travelling together with the woman, and was kidnapped at the same time.

They are now back in Egypt, following intensive negotiations carried out by Egyptian authorities.

The two were held by a group of beduins, who had demanded the release of two of their relatives, held in custody by the police.

The woman said she was extremely relieved to be set free, and looking forward to return to Norway to be re-united with her family and friends.
