Petter Northug won the men's World Cup classic cross country sprint on home turf at Drammen, Norway on Wednesday, ahead of Aleksej Poltoranin of Kazakhstan. Russia's Nikita Kruikov came third.
The women's sprint was won by Poland's Justyna Kowalczyk, ahead of Norway's Heidi Wang and Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg, who were second and third respectively.
Norway's Marit Bjørgen did not participate, due to a cold.
