Socialist left again call for republic

The Socialist Left Party (SV) has again proposed that Norway should change from being a Monarchy to become a Republic.

- It is about time to change this old fashioned form of government in a modern nation.

- In 2012, important positions in Norwegian society ought not to be hereditary, in the opinion of government coalition partner SV.

The party therefore proposes, for the 12th time, a change of the Norwegian Constitution (grunnlov) making Norway a republic.
