Tuesday morning, after 98.5 per cent of the votes had been counted, Høyre had received around 28 per cent of the votes, nationwide, up 8.8 percentage points from the municipal election in 2007.
Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg's Labour (AP) is still the nation's largest party, with 31.6 per cent of the votes, up 2 points.
The right wing Progress Party (FrP) drops 6.1 points, to 11.5 per cent.
The Agrarians (Senterpartiet), one of the three government coalition partners, drops 1.1 points, to 6.8 per cent. The Liberal Left (Venstre) gains 0.4 points, and received 6.2 per cent of the votes.
The Christian Democrats (KrF) lost 0.7 points, and have the support of 5.6 per cent of the voters. The Socialist Left (SV), the second coalition party, drops 2 points, to 4 per cent. Red won 1.5 per cent of the votes, down 0.2 percentage points.
