Norwegian Navy orders new logistics vessel

The South Korean yard Daewoo has been awarded the contract to build a new logistics vessel for the Norwegian Navy. The contract is worth NOK 1.3 billion.

 

The new vessel will replace two existing supply ships, and will become the Norwegian Navy's largest ship. It will be of 26,000 tons, with a length of 170 metres and have a crew of 43.

When used as a hospital ship, it will accommodate up to 48 patients.
