Norwegian activists killed in Syria

altSeveral Norwegian citizens who have travelled to Syria to participate in the fighting, have reportedly been killed, says Benedicte Bjørnland (photo), head of the Norwegian Police Security Agency (PST) to NRK.

PST does not want to confirm any numbers or say where the informationcomes from, but says the concern around Norwegians who travel to Syria is growing.

- We know that several persons with ties to Norway, who have travelled to Syria, are reportedly killed, Bjørndal says to NRK.

- Our main concern is over Islamists who go to Syria and who gain experience in fighting, in how to handle arms and explosives, and may kill, and who then return to Norway, more dangerous than when they left, she says.
