Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit last days in the U.S. were focused on tourism, innovation and technology.
The Royal Couple's third day in the U.S. started with a breakfast meeting about tourism, followed by a presentation given by the Crown Prince at a seminar about tourism at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, hosted by Innovation Norway.
Crown Prince Haakon presented Norway as a tourist destination to representatives from the American travel industry, and showed both pictures and videos from his own personal trips in the Norwegian mountains.
Following the seminar, Crown Princess Mette-Marit opened the seminar Advanced Technology and Innovation at the Institute for Design at Stanford University. The Crown Princess emphasized the institute's focus on combining various courses and methods across different disciplines and faculties, and how it's an important factor for innovation.
The same evening, the Royal Couple visited the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, which soon closes to be rebuilt. Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta has designed the new museum building, which after the expansion will be double the current size and capacity.
The Crown Prince and Princess ended their last evening in San Francisco at an official dinner for 250 guests at the Fairmont Hotel. Thursday they completed their official U.S. visit with a visit to the Norwegian software company ForgeRock in Silicon Valley.
