New Norwegian ambassador to the US

Political Director Kåre Aas of the Department of Foreign Affairs will become the new Norwegian ambassador to the US, according to Aftenposten.

The newspapper also writes that the present ambassador to the US, Wegger Strømmen, will take over Aas' position as political director when he returns to Norway.

Aas has previously been Norwegian ambassador to Afghanistan, and has also led the section for defence policy in the Department of Foreign Affairs.
