Highway E-18 between Oslo and Drammen was closed to all traffic for several hours Thursday morning, following a major traffic accident involving a truck and several other cars.(Updated)
One person died and several were injured in the accident.
Police and emergency units, incuding an ambulance helicopter were soon on the scene, where a truck was on fire, NRK reports.
A man was seen running away from the scene, and was caught by the police son after.
The man, a Polish national living in Oslo, has been charged with unvoluntary manslaughter, smugling and driving under the influence of alcohol, NRK reports.
The car he was driving, was found to be carrying 1000 litres of beer and 100 litres of spirits. It sideswiped a large truck, and this is believed to have caused the accident.
