Slight increase in unemployment

altThe unemployment rate in Norway in January was 3.6 per cent of the total labour force, according to Statistics Norway, an increase by 0.3 points from the previous survey.

The employment rate, which is employed persons as a percentage of the population aged 15–74, fell from 69.2 per cent in October to 68.7 per cent in January.

Compared with other European nations, unemployment in Norway is still very low:

In Denmark, the seasonally-adjusted unemployment went up from 7.3 per cent in October to 7.4 per cent in January. In Sweden, unemployment remained unchanged at 8.0 per cent during this period.

In the EU15, unemployment increased from 10.9 per cent in October to 11.0 per cent in January. The international figures refer to seasonally-adjusted data from Eurostat.
