Many search and rescue missions this Easter

altMonday is Second Day Easter in Norway, and the last day of the long Easter holiday, but already on Sunday it became clear that the Norwegian Red Cross had carried out a record number of missions.

According to NRK, the voluntary Red Cross patrols had so far carried out 300 transports of injured, twice as many as in 2007. In addition they had treated 950 lighter injuries, also a slightly higher number than the average for the last few years.

One reason for the increase is the beaautiful weather in the south of Norway, with a higher number than usual of people on the trails and on the downhill slopes.
