The import of agricultural products to Norway last year increased by 9.2 per cent, compared with the year before. Most of the increase was due to the import of meat, grain and potatoes.
The value of last year's agricultural imports reached NOK 43 billion, an increase by NOK 3 billion from 2011, according to the Norwegian Agricultural Authority (NAA).
The import of meat increased by 54 per cent, to 29,000 tons Most of this was due to a record import of beef, 17,700 tons.
The import of lamb increased by more than 1,000 tons last year.
