The Norwegian feature film "Kon Tiki" which was nominated for the Oscars in the category "Best Foreign Film," did not receive an award at Sunday's award ceremony in Los Angeles.
Award winner was as predicted, the French/Austrian film Amour.
The Norwegian film, based on the true story of Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl and his expedition across the Pacific Ocean in 1947, had earlier also been nominated for the Golden Globes.
Norwegian Culture Minister Hadia Tajik, who was present in Los Angeles, said that although Kon-Tiki did not win an Oscar, there was no doubt that it has placed Norwegian film on the international map, and has become a door opener for Norwegian film.
