Warns against foreign agents

altIn its security assessment, the Norwegian Security Police (PST) also warns agianst attempts by foreign agents attempting to infiltrate Norwegian police and security divisions.

PST says that in recent years it has observed a worrying development, where other nations are trying to infiltrate police and security services. It gives examples of how foreign intelligence services try to recruit Norwegian citizens, with the aim that they will apply for jobs where they will have access to classified and secret information.

According to PST, this development is especially worrying for sections of the justice and preparedness sectors, and they have observed an increased tendency towards infiltration there.

The aim is to gain access to police registers, to classified documents about the police preparedness plans, informations about informers and about the police operation methods.
