Police experience more violence

The number of reports of violence against police officers has nearly doubled over the past eight years. In 2004, 613 complaints were registered. Lst year, trhe number was 1156.

This is shown by a fresh report from the Police Directorate, Bergens Tidende reports.

At the same time, the number of injuries to police staff is decreasing, a drop by 22 per cent since 2009.

The largest share of injuries, 33 per cent, were recorded in connection with arrests and searches.
