The Norwegian Defence Command on Thursday strengthened the level of preparedness at all Norwegian military installations to level Alfa (lowest level), following intelligence information from NATO.
A week ago, Norwegian Defence was warned that terrorists could launch an attack against a military camp in Norway or the Netherlands. This information was systematically dealt with by the Defence Intelligence Service, and resulted in Thursday's introduction of higher alert.
However, the Defence Central Command underlines that there is nothing dramatic in the precautions, just normal response to the information.
- This just means higher level of alertness. Norwegian defence installations normally have good security routines, says press spokesman Vegard Finberg to NRK.
