The number of attacks by hackers against Norwegian data systems has doubled in just one year. Oil and gas plants, electricity grids and military defence systems are among the targets.
The aim may be to steal sensitive information, or to carry out sabotage against important institution of Norwegian society, Aftenposten writes.
The paper says the reason for the increase is unclear, but tht it most probably is caused by increased intelligence activity from abroad, by private data experts or by the intelligence services of foreign powers.
