Slight reduction in Norwegian arms export

The value of Norwegian exports of military equipment in 2012 fell by over NOK 100 million or 4 per cent, compared to 2011, to a total of NOK 2.5 billion. Exports to the USA showed a further decline.

The distribution between the various commodity groups was more or less the same as in 2011, Statistics Norway reports.

The group military weapons and parts was still the largest, amounting to NOK 1.3 billion in 2012, followed by the group bombs, grenades, torpedoes, mines, rockets and similar military equipment including spare parts at NOK 824 million.
