In the Government's proposal for next year's budget, the funds for international development aid will be increased by NOK 2.3 billion.
This is confirmed by the Minister for International Development, Heikki Holmås (photo), in an interview with Dagsavisen, saying that from 2004 to 2013, the red/green coalition government has doubled the budget for aid to developing countries.
The goal of using 1 per cent of Norway's income on helping people out of poverty has now been reached, the Minister says.
