Bilder School of Photography

Bilder Nordic School of Photography is located in central Oslo, Norway, and is one of the leading photography schools in Scandinavia today. The school was established in Oslo 2005 by Anthon B. Nilsen Education (ABNU), one of the largest private educational providers in Scandinavia. In 2009 a sister school was established in Stockholm, in collaboration with Berghs School of Communication. Bilder Nordic is currently establishing in Denmark and Finland, fulfilling the aspiration to create a photographic community across the Nordic borders.

Bilder Nordic offers two photography education programmes, a two-year photographer programme and a one semester introduction programme. The one semester introduction programme is also available as a one-year part time course during evening classes (lectures twice a week). In addition, Bilder Nordic also offers public seminars and workshops.

The Introduction to Photography programme is lectured in English and we welcome foreign students to apply. The two-year Photographer programme is mainly lectured in Norwegian.

We strive to offer a modern and innovative approach to photography, challenging the traditional format by focusing on three core values: Photography, Visual Communication and New Media. Our goal is to educate talented and successful photographers with a strong voice, solid craftsmanship and the ability to produce high quality images for both traditional media and new media, and to utilize social networks for communication and marketing.
