Hardanger, on the west coast of Norway, is widely known for it's scenic beauty. When you are here, you will soon realize how much the music of Edvard Grieg reflects his close attachment to this area.
The oldest festival in Stavanger celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2008. MaiJazz is Stavanger's oldest festival and has been running for 20 years. Since the first festival in 1989 MaiJazz has developed to be one of Norway's leading jazz festivals presenting international jazz stars and the best in national and local jazz every year. Approximately 150 volunteers are gathered to arrange about 40 concerts on 20 stages in and around Stavanger, that can accommodate from 80 to 1800 people.
Zentropa International Norway and The Norwegian Short Film Festival Grimstad come together in 2011 with the common goal of promoting the art of short film. Our vision is to encourage artistic and innovative collaboration between International and Norwegian film professionals.
The festival organisers, volunteers and the local community are ready and waiting to welcome festival-goers and participants! We hope the festival will provide some meaningful, instructive, interesting, challenging and enjoyable days.
