Welcome to the Midnight Opera at Steinvikholm Castle in inner Trondheimsfjord; a medieval drama based on true historical events!. Each August, the opera “Olav Engelbrektsson” recreates the dramatic 16th century event which stands out as one of the most significant episodes in Nordic history: The Danish assumption to power and entering the Reformation. Archbishop Olav Engelbrektsson built his shield and magnificent residence at Steinvikholmen, which became the centre for a ruthless struggle for power and love..
