The World Championship in Cod Fishing takes place each year in March in Solvær, Lofoten. The event attracts hobby fishermen and enthusiasts from all over the world.

655 participants from nine countries met Saturday in Svolvær to compete for the biggest catch, in terms of weight and biggest fish. At 9:00 Saturday morning boats left from the harbour. After five hours of fishing they returned with their catch.
