Paul Curran leaves the Oslo Opera

Paul Curran (42) has announced that he is leaving his post as artistic director at Oslo's Opera House. He is leaving at the end of the year, two years before the end of his contract.

Curran says he made his decision and handed in his resignation last December, but that he was asked to reconsider. However, he now feels ot is time to move on.

Curran is from Glasgow and was originally a dancer by profession.

The work to find a new artistic director at the Oslo Opera will start immediately.
