The Rørvik Church in Vikna, in the county of Nord-Trøndelag was damaged by fire Saturday evening. The extent of damage to the 116-year old frame building was Sunday morning still unclear.
Fire fighters were able to bring the altar piece and church silver to safety, NRK reports.
The church was consecrated in October 1896. It was heavily damaged during bombing on May 1st 1940, but was repaired. It also underwent restaurations in 1973, 2006 and 2007.
