Web IMGP2082
Floodwaters and mud slides have halted the rail services between Oslo and Trondheim in both directions. The trains between Hamar and Røros have also been interrupted.

The Norwegian Railways (NSB) have announced that tey are unable to provide alternative transport by bus, since the main highways in the same area are blocked by flooding and rock and mud slides.

The raging waters have also forced the ec\vacuation of close to 400 people from their homes in Eastern Norway.

The situation is worst in the Gudbrandsdal Valley north of Lillehammer, where 250 people have been evacuaated at Kvam.

But scores of people have also been evacuated at Otta, Eidsvoll, Aurdal and Nesbyen.

Fire departments and Civil Defence units are out in force to assist people.

So far there are no reports of serious injuries.
